Protection zone
Boundary of the statutorily reserved space around water intakes used for drinking water supply*, after consulting a licensed hydrogeologist. Craft, agricultural and industrial activities, and buildings are prohibited or regulated to preserve water resources by avoiding chronic or accidental pollution. We can statutorily distinguish three areas: (i) the immediate protection area where constraints are strong (potential prohibition of activities); (ii) the close protection area where activities are limited, and (iii) the distant protection area to ensure the sustainability of the resource.
